This book had me feeling all the emotions! I absolutely adored Patience, she was so strong to survive her horrible past and current future; Zeke, is completely different from Patience, but just as broken do to his own experience with abuse. These two opposite go through so many obstacles, some of their own making and some they had no control over. I will say I wanted to kick Zeke's a** a couple of times, but Patience was not always meek and she did make Zeke pay in her own special way.

I hated the horrors they had experienced, but in turn is made them strong and able to see true love when they encountered. My heart broke mostly for Patience, but the ending had my heart breaking for the both of them.

I like a good rock book and although this was the start of a series about the Blow Hole Boys...it was more about the beginning and the relationship between Patience and Zeke.
Both of these characters were abuse victims (both emotional and physical) and what happens to them on their journey past their terrible childhoods and towards a brighter future together, is the main portion of this first book. It had some very tense and upsetting, violent moments and the scenes with Patience and her dad were horrific but after the initial main "meat" of the story, things were wrapped up fairly fast and the ending was a bit too quick (in my opinion) after ALL we had to experience before we got to the ending.
I am about to start the next one in the series, so looking forward to that one as well.

I listened to this story as an audiobook and thought it was really well written and the narrators were a good fit. This isn’t a new adult book, it’s actually young adult because both of the characters are seniors in high school. I don’t typically read young adult because depending on how it’s written, the immaturity and petty drama annoy me but this story wasn’t as bad as I expected once I realized they were still in high school. Definitely some immaturity and lack of life experience but these 2 characters have dealt with enough in their lives to age them more than they really are.

Patience is the governor’s daughter and has been abused since a very young age. Zeke is from the other side of the tracks and has also been abused by his father throughout his life. His dad is a mean drunk and doesn’t need a reason to start beating on his son. This book deals with some really sensitive issues and because of that, it’s pretty emotional.

Patience and Zeke meet at an underground club when Patience is drugged by a stranger. Zeke rushes her to the hospital after he finds her in the bathroom. Throughout the story, they cross paths several times and become friends and then more. He’s no longer the manwhore he’s always been and even though they do spend several months apart at one point, they reunite and find their HEA.
This was my first read by Tabatha and loved it. The cover and title was what drew me in at first, until I read the synopsis and the reviews. That's when I knew it was going to be my next read. From beginning to ending I was hooked, wanted to know and read more. This book literally captured my heart and didn't release it until I was done. It was so emotional and heart wrenching to read. I felt the pain the characters went through. Through out this whole novel I envisioned and played out like a movie the whole time I read it. Because of Tabatha's amazing story telling, I devoured it within hours time. I thought it was so well written, and developed. The story line was phenomenal. So was the character's very well developed. I loved how the author wrote the chapters, very different and worked well for the story. The layout of it really created depth and realism. I liked how angsty both sides of the story was from Zeke's and Patience story. It really gave it a great insight view, both on their lives, as well as how they viewed each other, situations and surroundings.

The story was about two broken and abused souls. Kind of a tragic love story . One lived on the rich side of town and came from a influenced family. The other wrong side of town, with very little money. When they found each other they were both able to put the pieces that were broken back in each other.

Patience Phillips is the rich girl, trying to be normal, goes unnoticed. But little do people know she's far from perfect. She dresses plain and tries desperately to just to fit in. She tries to hide what's really going on in her life. She has secrets of her own ones that scarred her for life. Her mother and little sister are the most important people in her life, and will go to all ends to protect.

Zeke Mitchell, leading guitarist in his band Blow Hole. He's a tattooed and pierced bad boy. He's damaged, broken, and abused carrying his own secret's. Due to his upbringing he doesn't get close to anyone nor will he ever to commit to someone. His main value's his band and guitar. He comes off as a sexy mysterious alpha who under no circumstance get's personal or emotional with anyone. He's a smart ass, player, and uses sex, alcohol, drugs, and music as a release against the pain he has bottled up inside.

No one knows what Zeke or patience is hiding under their hard exterior until they meet. Where both can clearly see the other is hiding behind their image. They both fight their attraction for each other. But luckily for them fate keeps throwing them into each other's paths whether they like it or not. When their around each other, that's when you really see the character's coming out of their shell, their protective stance, as well as the view they let off in the novel. Everything get's washed away and true feelings gets revealed. Heart's get's shattered, and lines are blurred but most of all the one battle they weren't prepared for was to fall in love.

Highly recommended!! Tabatha wrote one of the most captivating, inspiring novels I've read in a very long time.
